IF YOU DONT CHECKOUT THESE VIDS UR CRAZY!
I'm actually majoring in broadcast journalism, even though it doesn't really 'float my boat.' Being on T.V. can be fun sometimes... as you can see in these vids, so check out at least a couple if you can spare a minute.
I have to do a package for 472 and for entertainment sake, thought I'd checkout some popular mistakes reporters make. Not always unavoidable, like some you will see, but some are.
1. Lesson 1: Say MORE than "OH MY GOODNESS." We have ALL seen 'NAKEDNESS.'
2. Lesson 2: what to do... what to do...
Do you make the call and go to commercial or wait for your FD??? hmm...
3. Lesson 3: DON'T CUSS WHEN YOU'RE WEARING A MIC!!!
4. Lesson 4: LIVE T.V. MEANS LIVE T.V.
5. Lesson 5: How to get workman's comp. when you're a reporter
'Live' Blog NOT so 'Live' ..... But, read anyway
So...grrr...I am writing to you late. My ‘live’ blog on the first State of the Union address made by the newly appointed 44th President of the United States—Barack Obama—is not so ‘live’...
No excuse. But, here are my thoughts...
After being introduced by Madame Speaker to the House, Pres. Obama began his address...
“The impact of this recession is real and it is everywhere. But, while our economy made be weakened and confidence shaken we are living through difficult and uncertain times... Tonight I want every American to know this: We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will be stronger than before.”
Although I did not vote for Obama (or McCain) I felt inspired by his speech. It is his job to prove to me, and our country, that his right decisions will REBUILD our country. His points on energy, healthcare, education, and energy reform were well
“That day of reckoning has arrived and the day to take charge of our future is here.”
Powerful. Hope he is not all talk. Washington is a new place, but I will not dare say that it has drastically changed from any other change-of-office.
Yes, many precedents have been made. But, America saw no improvement for 8 years. No change was made and there was no hope. Obama has given us hope and it sounds good.
President Obama:
“You can sweet talk all you want, but I am just going to wait and test whether or not you will actually make a CHANGE.”
Some people’s reaction to this may be, change cannot occur unless Americans unify and work hard together. But, let’s face reality... I work and go to school full-time and in certain areas of my life I am a leader and follower. I am not the President, so my role now is only to follow. My promise to Obama is to follow until he proves to be untrustworthy.
His words were strong:
“Now, is the time to act to boldly and wisely. Not only to revive this economy but to build a foundation for lasting prosperity...”
All I can say is... sounds good to me Boss. Now get to work... Here are some clips and because of my devotion to Youtube, here is the ENTIRE speech IF you are interested in seeing it again or, perhaps seeing it for the first time.
