What color is our country? Must we choose?

I heard this morning on my way up to Fullerton (to take the EWP, which is RIDICULOUS btw) on KIIS, Ryan Seacrest talking with Diddy about his new cologne and other fragrances... and how he gets inspired for a new scent. Very interesting... NOT! Anyways, I did continue to listen and then Seacrest mentioned something about a 'Black Bond' to Diddy and how he made an audition tape and then after a little searching discovered that the rumors are true. How serious? I don't know. But, Diddy and Jamie Foxx are interested in the role.

My reaction to this is: HUH??? So, I guess now that we have a Black President, we (the media, people, human race) must make a Black version of all famous characters in film, comic books, etc. to be politically correct and fair. Diddy eluded to having a Black Bond and maybe even a Black Superman. To me, this is ridiculous. Is this what our world is coming to? Are we on the brink of a racial rebellion? I have many friends who are African American and we have discussed this issue many a time.

I could rant about the movie issues, and how this could quite possible demolish the Bond franchise, but I am more politically and socially driven in my feelings here. I believe the naivety of our country will consume us all soon, instead of driving us together and unifying our country, I do not think it is so far stretched to believe that some people--on both sides of the racial divide--will impede progress. Change will come, but what and at what cost to humanity?

I have lived in a time where I have not been privy to the segregation my peers and their families (of many colors, not just Black) have been. For their pain and suffering I am sorry. But, living throughout the South in different parts, I have been exposed to the lack of humanity humans possess. In these times of struggle AND change, I hope we as a united people are able to rise against the frailties of human nature and make a difference.

For every White thing, does there have to be Black? For every Black thing does there have to be White? For every Red thing, does there have to be Yellow?

You get the point. Color has caused divides since time began, will it ever cease? I pray it does. I do not intend to offend anyone with this post, but if I did ruffle your feathers... I just don't care. This is the world as I see it.

I completely agree. To remake every iconic character for every race would be outrageous and many times, movies that cater to one race or another only perpetuate stereotypes.
